Insert and format content in a teaching document

Use the insert menu, text toolbar, and alignment controls to structure a clear, readable classroom document.

Insert a new block

The plus button near the document’s top-left opens the insert menu. Choose a content type to add it at the end of the document; in an empty document it becomes the first content.

You can also use the slash menu while editing. Type / to browse available block types. Choose the type that suits the content rather than simulating headings or tables with spaces.

Format selected text

Select text to open the floating toolbar. Use the paragraph selector for headings and other supported text blocks. Bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, color, and links are available for appropriate selections.

Alignment is grouped into one control. Hover or click to reveal left, center, and right alignment options. The small floating group does not expand the main toolbar’s height.

Keep the page readable

Use headings to divide sections, bold for short emphasis, and consistent alignment for question instructions. Avoid using several colors to communicate the same kind of instruction.

Use tables or Grid blocks when students need a structured space to compare, sort, or record answers. Check that cells still provide enough writing room.

Ask for help with the wording

Select a passage and choose Chat with AI to add it as a reference in the side chat. Ask for a focused change, such as shorter directions. The reference is not sent until you send a message.
